Neighborhood Stabilization Program
The City of Garland is eligible to receive $2,040,196 in funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.  The Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds are considered additional 2008 entitlement funds for the Community Development Block Grant.

“Code Cares” Program Receives Statewide Recognition
The Texas Municipal League presented the City of Garland with the 2008 Municipal Excellence Award in Public Works in recognition of its “Code Cares” program.

Garland Celebrates Top 100 Ranking
CNN and Money Magazine just released their list of the Top 100 Places to Live, which includes Garland at number 67.  The city’s comfortable, hometown feel in the midst of a thriving metropolitan area was just one of the outstanding characteristics mentioned in the report.
